A Little Gem

Beautiful, clean guest house. Good quality bedding, lovely big room and huge bathroom. Friendly hostess and excellent, locally sourced produce. Highly recommended. We loved our one nights stay. Easy walking distance to town, good selection of restaurants and an enjoyable walk along the riverside.

Handy For Town Centre & Station.

My husband and I stayed here two nights and we found the owner to be very personable and polite.
Our bedroom fulfilled the usual expectations and breakfast was very good with no waiting.
An added bonus is that it is next door to where J.M.Barrie once lived.

Friendly Comfy Clean

This hotel is off a roundabout down a gravel terrace. We arrived earlier than we should and the owner kindly let us in. As we had only just arrived, from a long drive from Fort William and were hungry, before we went to our rooms, she kindly recommended a nearby restaurant called Lockards Farm which was very good.

Our rooms were on the first floor and were comfortable, clean and had all mod cons. One issue for people with climbing difficulties would find the stairs an issue and it was difficult taking the case to the room. We had room 3 which is a twin bedded room and our friends had a very large double bedded room number 4.

We all slept very well as the beds were super comfortable and the hotel is in a quiet position. They have a garden across from the Terrace down a few steps with a table and chairs which we sat on in the sun. Breakfast was perfect with porridge, toast, eggs, bacon etc and the owner couldn’t do enough for us. The town is only a short walk 5-10 mins from the hotel although unfortunately, we arrived on a Sunday so not much was open. We parked the car outside the hotel free of charge.

We would definitely return to this hotel if traveling nearby and is perfect for one or two nights.

Great Little B&B

Stayed here for four nights and had a lovely stay. Great hospitality from Bernie the owner. She is very knowledgeable about the area and gave some great tips on places to see and places to eat.

The rooms are spacious and clean with tea, coffee making facilities. Toiletries are also provided. The breakfasts are very good with lots of choices.

The accommodation is a five minute walk from Dumfries station with trains to Glasgow and Carlisle and a ten-minute walk into town and with a Morrisons supermarket close by. My husband and I had a great stay and Glenaldor house is a great base to explore Dumfries and Galloway and the Solway Coast. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again

Lovely House

We have stopped over on the way back after touring the Highlands. Two rooms our family occupied were immaculately clean and very spacious, Bernadette made our stay very comfortable and helped us with booking dinner, breakfast was lovely too.

According to our children – the fastest WiFi they had in Scotland! Nice and comfortable stay, thank you.

Wonderful

Bernadette makes you very welcome in her beautiful home. The room we had was very large with period features and a massive clean bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and we would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the very nice town of Dumfries
